Your accounts, the SAFEX board, spreads, parity, desk-filtered news and the weather that moves the crop — one screen, in English or Afrikaans, behind a WhatsApp login.
One screen, the whole picture
THE SILO is the Applied Derivatives client portal. It runs in the browser at app.derivative.co.za on any phone, tablet or desktop, installs to your home screen like an app, and quietly keeps itself up to date — nothing to download, nothing to maintain.
It is built in-house by the same desk that runs the WhatsApp service, and the two work together: WhatsApp brings the desk to you through the day; THE SILO is where you go when you want everything laid out in front of you.
Signing in
No passwords. Enter your registered phone number and a one-time PIN arrives on WhatsApp — the same number the desk already uses to reach you. Type it in and you are at your desk. THE SILO runs in English and Afrikaans; switch any time. No WhatsApp thread with us yet? Message the desk and it starts one.
What it shows — and what it doesn't
You see your own accounts and nothing else. Market data is delayed, as on the rest of this site. And the desk's private analytics — the yield models, the supply-and-demand work — stay on the desk: THE SILO shows you the market and your position in it, and your broker remains a phone call away for the judgement calls.
Anything unclear, anything that looks wrong, anything you want added — contact the desk on the usual details below. The portal is built and run in-house, so changes do not sit in a vendor's queue.
Inside THE SILO
The board — the delayed SAFEX settlement board across every listed month, with the rand world-corn reference, currency and JSE rand-quanto metals and energy alongside the grains.
Your positions — your own accounts only: open positions and your running mark-to-market P/L, from the same records the desk works from.
Spreads — calendar and inter-product spreads, including the maize–corn crosses, each with deep price history in a touch chart.
Parity — import and export parity for white and yellow maize, so you can see where the market sits in the band between the two.
News — the day's market news, filtered by the desk for what actually matters to South African grain.
Weather — the maps and outlooks that move the crop, in one place.
